Puppies pee every 1-2 hours. Adults every 3-4. Take them out on a timer, not a hunch.

The rule Out after: waking, eating, playing, drinking. That's usually every 90 minutes for puppies.

Same spot every time. The smell reinforces the behavior. Praise immediately with a treat, within 2 seconds.

Accidents happen. Never punish after the fact. Clean with an enzymatic cleaner (not ammonia — smells like pee).

Crate is your friend. Dogs won't soil where they sleep. Right-sized crate = fewer accidents.
